Songdo Library: Architectural Competition

International architectural competition for the design of a new library in Songdo Smart City, South Korea.

The project is located on reclaimed land near a new housing development southwest of Seoul. The concept disciplines the library program with three cylindrical towers: knowledge, care and culture. The lobby has been lowered by 3 m relative to the ground, freeing its green roof as a public space for residents. On the tops of the towers there are viewing areas and cafes.
